Meet Shana
Hi, I'm Shana - a speaker, suicide loss survivor, and founder of Speak on Suicide. I started this mission after losing my 15-year-old son, Adam, to suicide in 2023. Sharing his story and my own has become a way to break the silence around mental health, suicide, grief, shame, and the real struggles that teens and families face today. I speak to students, educators, and communities about suicide awareness and prevention, mental health, and what it means to carry pain in silence. My message isn't about having all the answers, it's about starting the conversations that matter. I use my SPEAK framework to help people find the courage to talk, to listen, and to ask for help, because silence won't save us, but SPEAKing just might.

Moments that Matter
These are the moments that remind us why we speak, share, and show up. From quiet reflections to powerful conversations, each photo captures a piece of the journey - connection, courage, and the choice to keep going, even when it's hard. You're not just welcome here, you're needed.

What We Are Up To
Out of the Darkness
On October 27, we proudly participated in the Out of the Darkness Walk, organized by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in Broward County, Florida.
The Out of the Darkness walks create a powerful sense of unity and provide a platform for people to connect over shared experiences with mental health and suicide loss, helping to break down stigma and foster a supportive community. By walking together, friends, family members, and even entire communities show solidarity for suicide awareness and prevention, honoring those lost while supporting each other on the journey to healing.
